When was the last time you bought prescription eyeglasses? If it’s been past two years, you need to start focusing on your vision. There is no longer a need to worry that glasses will cost too much, thanks to the Internet, and the cost for an eye exam may be covered by your health insurance! See? No reason to keep putting off that very important doctor’s appointment.
So, why DO people put off getting new glasses? Two reasons: money and time. We live in a world where economies are tanking every day, so the idea of choosing between glasses and groceries doesn’t really appeal to people. Due to this, glasses are seen as a luxury instead of a necessity.
We also live in a time where people are busy! We plan lunch meetings to kill two birds with one stone. We get our teeth cleaned during our lunch break so we don’t miss work. We even budget the amount of time we spend with our loved ones just so we have some time to ourselves. It’s not surprising that people don’t want to spend time getting a new pair of eyeglasses.
Thankfully, the Internet has changed our ways. You can now buy glasses online from the comfort of your own home. All you need is a prescription, a method of payment, and an address to send them to! It’s really just that easy. The average person spends seven minutes looking for glasses online but 35 minutes searching for them in the store! Plus, you can save over 70% when you shop online.
So what’s holding you back? There’s no time like now to buy glasses online!

Nothing is stronger than the power of gratitude. To live a happy life, every day should be thanksgiving day! Being grateful and appreciating what you already have puts into motion the power to bring you more to be grateful for.
Now don’t get all “emo” on me by saying that you don’t have anything to be grateful for. Everyone has something to be grateful for. It may even be your ability to read this. – The problem is that too many people try to compare themselves with others, then find themselves falling short and not being able to show gratitude for anything. You are YOU. You are no one else. Comparing yourself, your life, and your “things to be grateful for” with others is not a very wise thing to do. You’ll just end up feeling miserable. Never compare yourself to anyone. You can’t be anyone else, and nobody else can be you!
Here is a little experiment for you: Think of yourself as the only person that matters in the universe, take everyone and everything else out of the picture. Ignore focusing on, and computing yourself to others. Now look at yourself, look at all the things you have to be grateful for. Recognize all the awesomeness in your life. Be thankful!
No matter how big or how small, we all have many things to be grateful for. By focussing on the good, and showing gratitude for the good, we’ll naturally open ourselves up to receiving more of the good. Therefore; every day should be thanksgiving day!
“Building a successful company (or living a happy life, for that matter) is not about embracing someone else’s philosophy, but staying true to your own beliefs about the world and learning from the mistakes you make along the way.” - Ben Parr
As you probably already know; It’s always been my dream to live in New York City. Andrew Clancy’s “A Year in New York” gives “a good look at the city and its vast array of people and sights” [mashable].

“Cause and effect is as absolute and undeviating in the hidden realm of thought as in the world of visible and material things. Mind is the master weaver, both of the interior garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance.” – James Allen
So you’re not allowed to marry your same-sex partner but you can marry your 14 year-old first-cousin? And if you’re in New York you can marry your gay 14 year old first-cousin… because pedophilia and incest in one state is so much better than equality across all states right?
It seems that when the seasons change, we hear more about people changing their appearance than we do about the actual shift in the appearance and climate of the world around us. People will never stop blabbing about “the newest fall fashions” or “hot new looks for the spring.” In fact, many people go as far as hawking fashion magazines and celebrity red carpets, making sure that they are in tune with whatever makeup or style is “in” at the moment. But instead of keeping an eye on these sorts of never-ending shifts in style and beauty, why not make a permanent change? For example, if nothing else, breast enlargement is a much more lasting way to make a fashion statement – and, it just so happens that it comes with a number of other benefits!
To begin with, as noted About Plastic Surgery, the procedure is not as difficult as one might think. It might be easy to envision all sorts of invasive and unpleasant surgical methods taking place around your breasts – however, it is really as simple as a slight, well-hidden incision and the insertion of an implant. Think about that – all your life you listen to movies, music, and even guys around school and work talking about how great big boobs are – and really, they’re just a simple surgical procedure away. You really don’t have to look at it any differently than buying the latest style of a dress, except that (let’s face it) big boobs are permanently in style, whereas your dresses get old after a while.
So, the obvious benefit is entirely physical – not only is the procedure fairly simple and extremely safe, but it will leave you with the pair of breasts that you’ve always wanted (and that the guy next door has always wanted you to have!). And, while this will almost certainly result in you receiving a bit more attention than usual from the opposite sex, it may also, ultimately, lead to a great confidence boost for you. Again, we can use the style metaphor. Think about how great you feel when you wear a brand new piece of clothing for the first time… you’ve just bought it, you think it looks fantastic and that it flatters you, and you can’t wait to show it off. This is the sort of pride and excitement you can take in your own body once you’ve undergone a procedure, and it should be a lasting confidence boost that can alter your life and improve your happiness. So, this season, forget about “new fall fashions” – consider new boobs!
US President Obama once again stood up for LGBT rights during his address to the United Nations General Assembly saying:
“No country should deny people their rights — the freedom of speech and freedom of religion — but also no country should deny people their rights because of who they love, which is why we must stand up for the rights of gays and lesbians everywhere.”
“A majority of mankind lives in the world without; few have found the world within, and yet it is the world within that makes the world without; it is therefore creative and everything which you find in your world without has been created by you in the world within. ”

It’s been a really long time since I’ve gone for a walk on my own. I’ve decided to change that and to brave the streets on my own. Usually I would only leave the house with my boyfriend or family. Since I have no real friends in the area (you’re all in other countries) I never really have any reason to leave the house unless I’m going shopping but, even my shopping happens mostly online at the moment. As flashy and outgoing as my website might make me seem, the reality is quite different. For the past year I’ve spend most of my days at home except for the rare occasion when the boyfriend and I would go out for dinner or cocktails. I can’t actually remember the last time that I went for a walk on my own. I have this stigma against the locals which has kept me locked up in house most of the time. That was not a racist statement just in case you’re wondering. By locals I mean: ignorant homophobic Afrikaans folk and Afrikaans is a language not a race so… problem?. It was really nice for me to walk around the neighborhood again and I’m sure my dog enjoyed it too.
Even though summer is in the air, nature proved that it’s not here yet. I was really hoping to see some awesome greenery but instead I saw this:
Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures of myself in my summer gear, reason being that I was thinking about many things other than myself today (can you believe it? ) I actually did quite a lot of thinking on my walk while blasting techno house through my earphones of course. While we’re on the topic of “me”… I’ve decided to get out more and to share more of what I do each day which is after all the main reason why I started blogging in the first place. I really miss sharing all of my life with the world but I’ve stopped sharing everything because I’ve felt insecure; constantly worrying about what others might think.
Due to this insecurity I became disconnected from the things which I used to care about, instead falling into a virtual world where I could simply log off whenever I felt judged. Today I realized that I don’t give a fuck what people think because I love being me and nothing will ever change that. If I happen to share intricate details about my life which ends up being judged or mislabeled by some random stranger it really won’t bother me one bit. I love life and I love sharing it with the world!
This critically acclaimed feature documentary follows a group of people whose lives are transformed by the virtual world Second Life. More than an examination of a hot new technology, the film is foremost an intimate, character-based drama about people who look to a virtual world in search of something they are missing in their real lives. The results are unexpected and often disturbing: reshaping relationships, identities, and ultimately the very notion of reality. Premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and will be featured on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network in 2011. Official site: life2movie.com
