As you know, David Venter is my real name. Since changing my career path from web and graphic design business to show business, acting, singing and writing I’ve been toying with the idea of creating a new pseudonym before I release my first original song or novel. Don’t get me wrong. I love my name, otherwise I wouldn’t have used it as my main online identity, but unfortunately I am not the only David Venter out there, there are a few others; just Google my name and you’ll see what I mean.

Having a few David Venter’s out there on the world wide web could make things somewhat confusing. I already had an incident where someone thought that davidventer.com and twitter.com/davidventer belonged to me, which is not the case. As a soon to be up-and-coming artist and author I need to create a unique identity to avoid any confusion.

On the other hand; I’ve worked really hard to build the David Venter online brand and identity, and I don’t know if it is really necessary to change all that simply because I’m not the only David Venter out there. I’m having serious mixed feelings about this and I’m not quite sure which direction to take – This is why I’m reaching out to you guys.
