Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You

Apologies for my lack of posts yesterday but my other half has been visiting me and since we aren’t yet living together I tend to neglect my blog whenever he is around, opting to spend more quality time with him instead of sitting in front of my computer all day. I had planned to snap a picture of us together for my DailyBooth but we didn’t get around to it. I’ll do it next time so that those of you who haven’t seen us together yet can finally see it, I promise! > watch this space <

If you’re a regular visitor you would have noticed that I changed my blog design yet again. After careful evaluation and planning I have realized that a simple black & white theme would be more appropriate for a neutral content space. A few of my sponsors have also requested more neutral colors. I really loved the brown, beige and maroon color scheme but I think that the black & white theme would be much better and more adaptable in the long run, especially when focussing on different fashion seasons. The idea is not to overwhelm you guys with my person brand, but instead to focus on content. Do let me know what you think about the blog design, your feedback is always appreciated!

I recently ran a readers poll here to ask you guys which topic you would like to read more about. Initially I was hoping to get at least 200 votes on the poll before closing it but I have decided to end the poll at 66 votes as I didn’t want to bring it over onto the new theme. The top three topics in order of preference are: Personal, Fashion and Lifestyle. – It’s great to know that the majority of you guys do enjoy reading my personal posts. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

With that said, I will be working hard to increase content for these three categories. I will however continue to post content for all other categories and I may even add a few more but I am glad that I have now established a top 3. After 6 years of blogging I am finally heading towards a more concrete direction, slowly but surely. – This very blog however has only been around since March 21, 2010. DavidVenter.Net is not even a year old but already going strong with an average of 8000 unique visitors per month. Again: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

My company has taken a bit of a beating since last year and my freelance career has also been rather dead lately. At this point my blog has been my only source of income so I am really grateful that my readership is growing and that you guys keep on coming back. I have also received some donations via PayPal (see bottom of right side-bar) which has helped me out a bit. I hate to sound like a street beggar but every donation helps, even if it’s only one dollar, me love you long time!  - If things continue to progress in the direction which they are going now I will probably end up turning this website into a full-time career. That’s enough projection and gratitude for one post. Even though I could continue writing on this subject for hours, I don’t want to bore you into a coma, so I’m moving on to another personal issue: As many of you know, I don’t get to see my other half very often since we’re not living together at the moment but things will change very soon. My boyfriend was given the opportunity to live and work somewhere awesome and I’ll be moving there with him. We’ll finally have our own place and we’ll get to see each other every night. I’m really excited about this and I cannot wait! We’re expecting to have this all sorted out by mid February or early March. I’ll disclose full information about the move and the location when it happens, so > watch this space <

I have once again gone a couple of days without looking at my horoscope. But every time that I write a personal blog entry I remember that I usually post my daily horoscope so I quickly grab my phone to read the latest…

To the untrained eye, white gold and platinum might look the same. But platinum is far more valuable because it is more rare and harder to mine. But if you prefer the luster of white gold, or if they are equally appealing to you, then why spend more for platinum? You may face a similar dilemma with an upcoming decision – possibly a purchase, Moonchild. You could opt to impress someone with something that’s more expensive and/or harder to come by, but why bother if you are happy with the alternative?

I’m unaware of any upcoming purchase although I was thinking about selling my iMac to purchase a MacBook instead. Ideally I would want to keep my iMac and also purchase a MacBook or iPad but my finances are limited at the moment so that might have to wait unless some rich angel donates a ton of money into my paypal account. In terms of sticking with a happy alternative instead of opting for the expensive item: That could be directly related to my wardrobe and skin-care products since I’ve been using cheaper alternatives.
