OMG You Guys. I Did It. I Fucking Did It!

On November 1st I took on the challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days as a way to prove to myself that I still have what it takes to follow-through and actually complete something.   And I’m proud to say that I did it. I wrote a novel of 50,379 words in 27 days. Yay Me!

The work isn’t over just yet. Now that a sufficient word-count has been reached, the editing process can begin. I’ll be be spending the next week or so editing my novel to prepare it for publisher submission. Will my manuscript be chosen as one of the lucky 10? Perhaps, perhaps not. Only time will tell. Either way, I have already benefited greatly by reaching my goal and now I have over 50,000 words to work with. I have written a novel. I am officially a novelist.

I plan on participating in NaNoWriMo every year from now on, and to turn my story into a series, adding a new book each year. The first book is titled “I am Christian.” It focuses on introducing my main character and looking back to where he came from. My idea with this was to build a back story for a fictional character based on my own life experiences and then build up a fun book series from there.

Here is the updated Short Synopsis of “I am Christian”…

Drawing upon past events and experiences from his own life; the author combines history, fact, and fiction to tell the early life story of a young man named Christian who was born into a conservative, middle-class household in South Africa. Through heartache, struggle, and an unconventional lifestyle, he follows his dreams to becomes a world-renowned writer, singer and successful business billionaire; living and working in New York City. The story is packed with drama, heartache, romance, and even a few kinky erotic scenes. Follow Christian from adolescence to adult-hood in this inspirational life-transformation story. Dreams do come true!
