Video Challenge: One Minute a Day for at least 100 Days

I’ve been posting random, mostly non-verbal short-form video clips on TikTok and Instagram Reels on and off over the past couple of years, and I’ve also made a couple of Travel videos on YouTube but I didn’t say much (or anything at all) in most of them

I’m mostly non-verbal in general unless I know you very well, and as much as I’d love to make more video content—vlogs, travel videos, and talk more on camera—this has always been a challenge for me. I’ve never really been comfortable speaking on camera, but I want to be.

I want to challenge myself to not only be comfortable speaking on camera but to actually be good at it too.

A while ago, I came across another dude on TikTok, facing the same problem. To overcome this, he challenged himself to post one video per day for 100 days of at least one minute of him speaking on camera. I thought this was a great idea—a great way to improve self-confidence, to become comfortable speaking on camera, and to become better at it over time, especially since video content creation is something that I really want to do.

I want to post vlogs of general life events. I want to make travel videos and actually talk about the things I see and the places that I explore, especially if I ever get to experience VanLife, which is my number one goal as soon as I can get past my current health problems.

I want to post more videos, talk about my life, my work, my experiences, and I want to be confident and comfortable doing so. But over the past couple of years, every time I attempt to create video content, I just didn’t have the confidence to do it in a way that I actually want to do it. So, now, like that other guy, I’m going to challenge myself to do it.

I’ve already started this personal challenge yesterday, posted another video today, and for the next 98 days, I’m going to challenge myself to keep doing it.

I’m going to post one video per day, talking on camera for at least one minute, and I’m going to try to keep doing it for at least 100 days.

Here are the first two videos…

It still makes me uncomfortable, and I don’t really know what to say—like my brain just goes blank when I hit the record button—all ideas and things I planned to do or say just disappear—but I really want to do this, get over my anxiety and camera shyness, and become more comfortable in front of the camera without sugarcoating my life; speaking on camera and becoming really good at it over time.

I’ll be posting these daily one-minute(ish) videos of me speaking on camera to TikTok, Instagram Reels, Threads, and YouTube Shorts, so you can follow along on whichever platform you prefer.

Over time, I hope to become better at it, share more of my life with you in video format, and eventually transition to creating the kind of long-form video content that I actually want to create. But it’s still rather difficult for me. Getting started and going at it for 100 days—even for just a minute a day—without saying the same things every day and not recording in the same way or same place every day is going to be a challenge!

I invite you to help me commit, persist, and succeed in this challenge.

Get in touch; tell me what you’d like to see, and ask me questions that I can answer on video. Give constructive criticism, and encourage me to keep going even on my “off” days.

Being Autistic with ADHD, and battling cancer—being overwhelmed, anxious, and in pain most of the time—makes this even more challenging for me as it requires confidence, calm, and consistency. But I want to do it. I need to do it. I want to become good at it so that when the time comes where I’m healthy again, in a position to travel more, and to do fun and interesting things, that I’ll then be able to make the kind of content that I’d love to make. I want to be confident in front of the camera, and be good at talking about all the things and stuff. If you’d like to help me achieve this goal, please get in touch and keep me accountable; help me do it and keep at it!

Thanks for reading, watching, and following my journey! ✌️💛
